The renovation process preserves the integrity and originality of each and every Aga cooker restored. The following is a brief description that outlines some of the renovation work undertaken:
Enamel: The original enamel is removed from the front, doors, top and flue box of the cooker following which, a full high quality vitreous re-enamelling is carried out at the main Aga factory in Telford to the colour of your choice.
Hotplates: The hotplates are machined to ensure they retain a solid, flat surface for maximum conduction.
Chroming: Wherever possible, old original fittings such as door catches and handles are recycled and re-chromed. In newer models where this may not be possible, chrome parts are replaced with brand new replicas.
Main castings: These are sand blasted using specially prepared shot to prevent damage to the cast iron. All dirt and debris is removed in this process resulting in renovated castings of a high quality suitable for reuse.
Linings, Seals and Insulation: All door and lid linings, rope seals and insulation are automatically replaced to ensure your renovated Aga cooker will be fully efficient and operate within the same temperature range as a brand new Aga.
Burners: Every burner is replaced with a new one and new controls and fire safety valves are included. Refurbished old burners are NOT SUPPLIED for safety and operational reasons.
Quality Checks: All our renovated Agas are built by highly skilled engineers. After passing a 3-stage quality control procedure your Aga is dismantled and packaged in readiness for delivery. A final check is then made prior to delivery.
In short, the renovation process is a very intensive one, and therefore you can be assured that you will be investing in a technically sound and superbly restored Aga cooker.
This is why Quality Has No Fear Of Time!
